Everyone
will experience a form of depression at sometime
in his or her life. Normally the depression
passes and we continue on with our lives.
When depression becomes chronic, a problem
is present that needs to be addressed. Depression
has many causes including the following:
-Emotional stress.
-Poor thyroid or adrenal function.
-Low levels of the neurotransmitters (compounds
that assist in nerve transmission) serotonin,
dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, or
acetylcholine.
-Vitamin B deficiencies. -Low prostaglandin
levels.
-Elevated estrogen and lowered progesterone
common during menopause and with estrogen
replacement therapy (ERT).
-Medications including antidepressants, pain
relievers; this includes over the counter
products such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin,
etc.), ERT drugs; these drugs interfere with
thyroid function, and high blood pressure
medications.
-Lack of sunlight can lead to a form of depression,
known as seasonal affective disorder (SAD).
-Chronic or systemic Candida.
-Chronic drug abuse, which can lead to neurotransmitter
depletion.
-Nutrient deficiencies, or excessive toxins
in the body, which inhibit proper gland and
organ function.
Ingredients
Bupleurum- Helps detoxify the liver and increases
dopamine levels.
St. Johnswort- A serotonin reuptake inhibitor.
This prevents serotonin from being reabsorbed
from the nerve synapse, prolonging serotonins'
antidepressant effects.
Gotu Kola- Rich in B vitamins, supports nerve
function, improves blood flow to the brain.
Juniper berry- Strengthens nerves, helps regulate
estrogen, antifungal, improves digestion for
better nutrient absorption.
Sage leaf- Strengthens nerves, helps regulate
estrogen, helps in detoxifying the body, antifungal.
Rosemary leaf- Good antidepressant because
of its strengthening effect on the nerves.
Rosemary is also a powerful antifungal.
Kelp- Promotes proper thyroid and adrenal
function, assists in detoxification, antifungal,
excellent source of B vitamins and other nutrients.
Nettle leaf- Source of the neurotransmitter
serotonin, supports proper adrenal and thyroid
function, nutrient rich and enhances nutrient
absorption.
Chamomile- Richest herbal source of the amino
acid tryptophan, which is converted into the
antidepressant neurotransmitter serotonin.
TMG (trimethylglycine)- A powerful methyl
donor derived from beet leaves. Methylation
is required for the production of all neurotransmitters
and aids in the formation of hormones, such
as prostaglandins.
Recommended use is 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon taken
3 times daily, at least 20 minutes before
meals. The powder can be mixed in juice, water,
or unsweetened applesauce, or may be placed
under the tongue and washed down with water.
